As a S&T Product Development Senior Manager, you will support our Automotive and Industrial business

growth in China. You will capture and understand the market trends and customer needs, work with PM and commercial team to create or update product development portfolio, develop clearly defined targets and timeline. You will take lead the Automotive and Industrial customer development team which cover all IC segments in China. The working location will be in Shanghai, you will report to Regional Technical Director, Industrial Coatings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executing on plans in accordance with the policies and directives of senior management. Accountable for meeting the operating objectives of the department. Provide guidance to staff within the latitude of established company policies. Determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Assure adherence to and manage approved budgets.
  • Implement strategy to further the sub-function's larger goals through the work of professional staff. Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect the sub-function.
  • Manage work and goals of professional level staff performing non-routine work or who manage a process or system. Have subordinate supervisors.
  • Interact with senior management and customers, normally involving matters between functional areas and other company divisions or units. Also lead a collaborative effort among members of a project team.
  • Will hire, terminate, or promote; another level of approval may be required. Makes decisions on salary increases, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Driving implementing necessary process review and leverage resource to ensure quality of technical deliveries.
  • Direct and manage daily activities for team, ensure the laboratory running smoothly
  • Work with topper managers to developing & adapting the technical organization and capabilities accordingly with high employee engagement level
  • Maintain and improve the existing processes and new procedures, to optimize working flow and effectively utilize the resource
  • Work closely with internal functional Dept and external vendors, Coordinate the available resource to leverage research and development skill
  • Cooperate with other function champions to ensure the project healthy. Work globally as one PPG group.
  • Maintain equipment and laboratory facilities consistent with safety and quality principle.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor or higher degree in chemistry or equivalent
  • At least 8 years' working experience in powder technology. 5 years in a leadership role with a team size more than 30 people
  • Proven track record of leading successful innovation from idea inception to commercialization;
  • Ability to manage complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Good Communication, teamwork and learning ability
  • Good Command of English ability
  • Prior experience in a regional technical leadership role is highly desired
