Responsibilities
Seat Design and Development:
- Design and develop the complete seat function features (heat, vent, lumbar, calf rest, cushion extension, massage, head restraint, armrest, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Seat function features function and requirements Benchmark.
- Develop and manage component/system DVP&R with Core Engineering & Suppliers.
- Develop and manage DFMEA/PFMEA/SCCAF with Quality & Core Engineer & Suppliers.
- Develop plans to meet quality objectives and validate robustness and durability of the designs.
- Ensure design and all Engineering specifications are understood by supplier.
- Ensure all engineering and quality requirements are met thru design and verification.
- Responsible for complete seat function features developments, perform package and stack-up studies at both component and subsystem levels, Cooperate with JIT complete seat engineers and seat frame engineers for application and issues solving.
- Responsible for complete seat function features electrical interface and requirements definition with external control module team.
- Oversee component/system level design verification and production validation, oversee prototype build and testing, review results and prepare report.
- Develop new suppliers/products introduction and DV test verification, review with global team for application and launch issues solving.
- Support all APQP activities including PPAP.
- Collaborate with Studio for seat surface developments, surface feasibility check.
- Collaborate with Quality team for seats warranty issues solving and solutions, conduct design verifications and PTR trail, WERS release.
Collaboration and Project Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program, studio, DI, Quality, safety, VE and suppliers, to ensure seamless integration of complete seats components developments.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to address technical queries and ensure project success.
Qualifications
The minimum requirements we seek:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and releasing one or more Seat structure components.
- 2+ years of experience using 3D CAD software collaboratively (Catia V5/V6, Teamcenter, etc.)
- 1+ year of experience in the production release process
- 1+ year of experience in a factory setting launching a new product.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Engineering.
- Excellent understanding of GD&T standards.
- High level of expertise and proficiency with Catia or similar tools including drawing and modelling practices and methodologies.
- Strong seat electronical knowledge be familiar with DET/CANoe tools.
- Hands-on experience building and launching automotive products.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other information management tools.
- Extensive experience in Quality/Reliability such as FMEA, Design Verification and Global 8D.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Certificate of Accomplishment from a recognized Design educational institution, or equivalent skills and expertise.
- Experience using Confluence, Jira, Asana, or other project management tools.
