What You Will Do
- Design and develop or upgrade tools that manufacture or run Molex products. Design tools for new products that follow existing design standards. Designs need to be completed in a manner which is easily maintained in a production environment, in a cost effective manner.
- To support ME, maintenance and production on tooling or semi-automatic machine & equipment trouble-shooting, Assist Project Engineers in developing new and unique tool types. Review Molex products for compliance with existing assembly equipment.
- support product development through automation production line in NPI or MP process. Concept new tools that manufacture or run Molex products. Design tools for products and establish new design standards. Designs need to be completed in a manner which is easily maintained in a production environment, in a cost effective manner.
- Support Molex customers, Molex plants and other internal customers with their tooling needs. Provide engineering analysis and recommendations to improve tooling performance. Provide clear and consistent documentation to support tools and products over their life,To support Productivity improvement activities
- Technical Support & Training
Conduct training for technicians on tooling operation and maintenance. Provide on-site support to resolve equipment and tooling issues beyond technician capability, ensuring smooth production flow.
- Quality Analysis & Improvement
Collaborate with QA and ME teams to analyze tooling-related quality issues and drive effective corrective and preventive actions.
- EHS & Risk Management
Familiar with EHS regulations and risk assessment methodologies. Regularly assess equipment and tooling risks, identify potential hazards, and implement continuous improvement measures.
- Supplier Management & Cost Optimization
Support sourcing team in evaluating tooling and spare parts suppliers on quality, delivery, and responsiveness. Optimize designs or explore alternative suppliers to reduce equipment and tooling costs.
- New Tooling Introduction & Project Support
Oversee tooling transfer, debugging, and acceptance for new projects. Develop spare parts procurement plans to support production needs.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- College degree or above in engineering or automation, 6 years minimum mechanical& tooling design experience
- More than 5 year experience in large manufacturing plant or professional equipment or tooling company, with minimum 4 years working experience in assembly, stamping, die or automatic, assembly design etc. Knowledge of metals and plastics.
- 2D & 3D CAD skills for modeling and documentation, Unigraphics / NX experience
- Knowledge of mechanism (design & analysis), mechanical cam driven, electrical servo driven, etc. Ability to estimate costs of components designed
- Tolerance analysis experience
- Problem solving and decision making skills Strong team work and problem solving skills
