advanced strategic designer role

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Design, Design Communication and Program work leading design input into pre-program development and the areas of product concept, brand & product experiences, accessories & services.
  • Future market accurately and provide strategy for exterior and interior design research hypotheses.
  • Create robust and strategic design process to produce strong product concept definition appropriate to Ford Motor Co. brands.
  • Development of China Brand Design Strategy and POV leading exploration and ideation into 3D models and initial platform development.
  • Differentiate with customer-centric innovation for a connected, electrified, sustainable future.
  • Product concept first methodology to lead future strategy and execution.
  • Presentation of design reviews to regional and global senior management.
  • Be a great partner with other company departments to ensure holistic exterior and interior design visions are achieved.
  • Team-focused, highly organized with exemplary communication skills; written, visual and verbal.
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling is highly desired – NURBS & POLY – to develop and refine design directions.
  • An ability to work with key researchers to help translate customer findings into designable objectives.
  • Research on design trends and interior technologies to curate and lead future directions.

Qualifications

  • Visionary and passionate about Automotive Design.
  • Academic degree/s and work experience in Automotive Design Studio.
  • Strong 2D & 3D digital capabilities.
  • Ability to think three-dimensionally, with a strong emphasis on proportions, sophistication, and a refined sense of graphics and form.
  • Proficiency in applying and translating cultural insights to design characteristics.
  • Strategic and creative thinking.
  • Demonstrated creative proficiency with supporting portfolio – a portfolio is required.
  • Strong communication skills in English & Chinese
