MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively manage corporate income tax compliance in China.
- Improve and efficiently implement processes and procedures around tax compliance/reporting/planning.
- Identify opportunities to minimize to the extent possible Lear's effective tax rate and cash tax rate (identify strategic risks and opportunities and propose/communicate/supervise and manage respective implementation process).
- Monitoring and coordinating Transfer Pricing issues (transaction level) and improve documentation.
- Continuously increase level of corporate governance with respect to corporate tax issues.
- Manage income tax audits/ongoing tax controversies.
- Coordinate various corporate restructuring projects/initiatives including e.g. tax structuring for new investments, acquisitions, and disposals.
- Manage US tax reporting obligations including but not limited to: a review quarterly and annual U.S. tax provision calculations and analysis including return to provision, FIN48 tax exposures, APB 23 calculations and impact of international transactions.
- Supervise monthly tax account reporting including cash taxes (for both actual close and forecast).
- Assist Regional Treasury team with cash management and dividend/capital planning.
- Review from a tax perspective relevant legal documentation (e.g., Share Purchase Agreements, Shareholder Resolutions, Board Resolutions).
EDUCATION
A Master's/ Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law or related business field is required. An advanced diploma in tax or accounting or professional qualification (e.g. ACCA) is preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate must have at least years of demonstrated tax experience in an international environment (with consulting or industry or some combination). He / She must have strong knowledge of U.S. tax accounting rules and have an outstanding understanding of China's tax rules and their practical implementation in China, including extensive experience in tax controversies management. Experience with a U.S. based multinational company in the automotive industry or manufacturing is preferred.
High level of fluency in English is required.
