Chassis compressed air team are responsible for developing, testing and verifying new brake systems for our trucks.
To be a global champion TRATON must have a presence in one of the world's biggest commercial vehicle markets, i.e. China. The go-to-market strategy is a premium product and a B+ product, developed in China for China. Both products will be produced in Scania´s production plant, our 3rd production footprint. This ambition requires an R&D organization that can develop, maintain and further develop the aimed product portfolio. The speed and the quality of our strategy execution will be the most important differentiator in the coming years ahead. For that reason, we are now looking for a Chief Suspension Engineer for the suspension development function within the R&D organization. Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial vehicle suspension system and components design and development, with focus on future suspension solutions, experience with independent suspension is considered as an advantage.
- Oversee full development cycle from concept to mass production including simulation, prototype testing and production support.
- Demonstrate vehicle-level integration expertise to ensure compatibility with powertrain and steering systems, and the integration of whole vehicle performance.
- Drive technical innovation to improve suspension performance metrics (durability/lightweight/NVH/cost).
- To create the future road map for suspension as a complete system and as well the components and collaborate cross-functionally (purchasing/manufacturing/quality). Qualifications
- MSc in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering.
- 8+ years of automotive suspension development experience, CV experience is preferred.
- Proficient in multiple suspension types with proven independent suspension commercialization experience.
- Proven to lead the R&D technical team under international environment.
- Expertise in CATIA/UG and good knowledge of simulation tools (ADAMS/ANSYS)
- Knowledge of CV regulatory standards and industry trends
- Fluent in English; experience in global engineering collaboration is a must. Swedish knowhow is a plus.
- International Experience: Comfortable working across cultures and geographies – especially Sweden, Germany, Brazil and China.
