Joining this assignment means stepping into a key role within a leading European automotive supplier recognized for its technological excellence, performance-driven culture, and global reach. At the heart of a fast-moving production site in Changshu, located in one of China's major industrial hubs, the company is looking for a hands-on, action-oriented Financial Controller ready to deliver results from day one and secure the financial integrity of the local operations.
Reporting directly to the Regional Finance Director and working in close cooperation with the plant management team, you will take full responsibility for financial control and operational reporting. Your mission is to ensure accurate, transparent, and insightful financial information that supports decision-making at every level. You will oversee cost control, production margin analysis, variance explanations, and budget-to-actual performance tracking, turning financial data into actionable strategies that boost efficiency and profitability.
You will play a key role in month-end closings, reporting cycles, and performance reviews, ensuring compliance with corporate standards while maintaining a strong on-site presence. Acting as a true business partner, you will engage closely with operational leaders, challenging assumptions, proposing corrective actions, and driving improvements that enhance both transparency and performance. In this highly visible role, your analytical precision, pragmatic mindset, and rapid adaptability will make you a trusted player within the international finance community of the group.
Fully immersed in daily operations, you act as a bridge between finance and the shop floor — translating figures into tangible solutions and supporting business growth through continuous improvement and cost optimization. Your capacity to be immediately operational and your ability to integrate into a multicultural environment will be key to your success in this fast-paced context.
Profile Required:
You hold a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Controlling, with at least 5 to 8 years of experience in an industrial environment — ideally within the automotive or manufacturing sectors. Proficiency with ERP systems (preferably SAP), advanced Excel skills, and a strong command of financial reporting tools are essential. You combine technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills, a structured mindset, and an ability to thrive under pressure. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Mandarin would be a plus.
Assignment Details:
Temporary mission (3 to 6 months) based in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, China. Possible contract: interim, consultancy, or short-term expatriation depending on profile. Competitive compensation package, full mobility support, and on-site accommodation provided.
