Opportunity to join a global leading renewable energy developer company as Project Director / Investment Director ( a project management role)
The Project Director will be responsible for the
end-to-end management of PV + BESS power plant projects
, including overseas projects — covering technical solution evaluation, design optimization, bidding and procurement, construction, commissioning, acceptance, and final handover. This position requires a strong background in EPC project execution, engineering management, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full Project Lifecycle Management
- Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of PV projects, from early-stage technical evaluation, design review, and tender management (technical bids), through to construction, commissioning, acceptance, and handover.
- Develop detailed project execution plans including
schedule, cost, quality, safety, and resource planning
, and ensure strict implementation and monitoring. - Take full responsibility for project progress, cost control, quality, and safety performance.
2. Design and Technical Management
- Organize and participate in project feasibility studies, preliminary design reviews, and construction drawing optimizations to ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and company requirements.
- Coordinate and resolve major technical issues during project execution.
- Be familiar with the key technical parameters and selection criteria of PV system components (modules, inverters, mounting structures, transformers, cables, etc.).
3. Construction Management
- Oversee on-site construction management, supervising contractors for progress, quality, safety, environmental protection, and civil discipline.
- Organize acceptance of key project milestones (pile foundation, mounting installation, module installation, electrical installation, grid connection, etc.).
- Coordinate and resolve on-site issues such as design changes, construction challenges, material supply, and local stakeholder relations.
4. Cost and Contract Management
- Participate in the negotiation, signing, and execution management of EPC, construction, and procurement contracts.
- Monitor project costs and review progress payment applications to ensure costs remain within budget.
- Manage engineering variation orders and change approvals.
5. Quality and Safety Management
- Establish and maintain a robust quality and safety management system for projects.
- Conduct regular and ad-hoc inspections to ensure compliance with national, industry, and company standards, preventing major safety incidents.
- Oversee the collection, organization, and archiving of all project documentation.
6. Internal and External Coordination
- Serve as the primary engineering interface, efficiently coordinating internal resources (design, procurement, cost, development, and O&M teams) and external stakeholders (owners, supervisors, design institutes, contractors, equipment suppliers, local authorities, grid companies, etc.).
- Support engineering-related matters in grid connection applications and approvals.
7. Team Management
- Lead and manage the project engineering team (including engineers and site representatives), assign responsibilities, guide daily work, and conduct performance evaluations and talent development.
Requirements:
1. Basic Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience,n Minimum
5 years of experience in PV power plant project management - Bachelor's degree or above in
Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, or Project Management (relevant majors preferred).
2. Experience
- Minimum
5 years of experience in PV power plant project management
, especially in utility-scale ground-mounted or large commercial & industrial projects. - Successfully led at least
two full-cycle PV projects (≥10 MWp)
as Project Manager or equivalent role, achieving grid connection and delivery. - Experience in
EPC turnkey project management
is highly preferred.
3. Professional Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth understanding of PV system design principles, construction processes, acceptance standards, and grid connection procedures.
- Proficient in project management processes and key control points.
- Familiar with national and international engineering standards, technical regulations, and safety codes.
- Proficient in
project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6)

CAD
, and
MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
. - Experience with
PV simulation tools (PVsyst, PV*SOL)
is a plus. - Strong cost awareness and project cost control capability.
- Knowledge of major PV equipment technologies and market trends.
4. Other Requirements
- Willing to travel frequently and work on-site during project execution phases.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
