As a Senior Accountant at Melexis, you will be responsible for all the accounting related activities for the full set of books including analysis in accordance with Melexis Global policies and guidelines, internationally approved accounting standards and local legislation.

More precisely, you will:
- Assure that the finance and accounting activities are performed in accordance with the company's global finance and accounting policies and standards local GAAP and IFRS
- Ensure compliance with any tax, VAT and other requirement by the local authorities
- Ensures timely and accurate recording of all accounting transactions
- Performs the necessary analyses and controls based on a good understanding of the business to ensure correctness of the data (budget/actual analysis, trends analysis, project analysis etc) and reports findings to management.
- Be the first point of contact for internal and/or external auditors
- Challenge or escalate to management if transactions are not in line with policies or legislation
- Continuously look for opportunities and take actions to improve the accounting processes (new/improved procedures, automations, etc)
Your profile
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the accounting field
- Experience working with cost accounting, preparation of financial statements in an international context will be a plus
- Proficient in English and Chinese (verbal and written)
- Knowledge of international and local accounting standards and practices
- Extensive knowledge of the local legislation in the accounting, financial and taxation area
- Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
- Experience with ERP systems, Oracle is a plus
- Able to meet a constant stream of deadlines
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels om employees
