Technical Sales Manager
– Wide Format Printing & Workflow (
Based in Shenzhen, China – Remote working - travel within China/APAC as needed).
We are looking for an experienced professional with deep technical knowledge of
wide format printing, color management, and production workflow software
, who can also drive sales and business development. This individual will be responsible for both pre-sales technical engagement and commercial growth in China, helping expand our presence with OEMs, dealers, and key end-users.
About the role:
This role involves a combination of technical expertise and sales acumen, focusing on driving business growth and providing technical support to clients.
Technical expertise
- Act as the subject matter expert on wide format RIP software, color management, ICC profiling, print workflow automation, and file preparation.
- Conduct technical demonstrations, proofs of concept, and ROI presentations for prospects and partners.
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support during evaluations, pilot programs, and product launches.
- Collect market and customer feedback to inform product management on feature gaps, localization needs, and competitive positioning.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new OEM, dealer, and large end-user opportunities across China.
- Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve revenue targets (subscriptions, upgrades, add-ons).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEM partners, resellers, and print service providers.
- Negotiate commercial agreements (pricing, licensing, support packages) in alignment with HQ strategy.
- Collaborate with marketing for local campaigns, trade shows, and technical seminars/webinars.
Cross Functional
- Work closely with the global sales & technical teams (Europe/US/APAC) to ensure consistent positioning and knowledge sharing.
- Support channel enablement by training dealers on technical workflows and sales messaging.
- Provide competitive intelligence and market insights to HQ for product roadmap and go-to-market adjustments.
Profile and background
- 5+ years in wide/grand format digital printing, RIP software, or workflow automation (e.g., Caldera, Onyx, EFI, Wasatch, SAi).
- Strong knowledge of color management, ICC profiling, PDF workflow, and file preparation for large format.
- Proven ability to sell technology solutions, ideally to OEMs, distributors, or large print service providers.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear commercial value propositions.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (written & spoken).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Preferred
- Existing network within wide format printer OEMs, dealers, or print service providers in China.
- Experience supporting international companies or reporting to global HQ.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Shenzhen (or surrounding area).
