  • The primary role is to manage and provide technical support to external manufacturing partners to ensure products meet quality, cost, and timeline objectives by establishing clear performance metrics (inline with K&S metrics), maintaining communication, and managing the relationship to protect intellectual property and achieve business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Technical support and process management: Provide technical expertise to contract manufacturers, optimize manufacturing processes, and ensure they meet production targets.
  • Project management: Manage projects, such as transfers, coordinate resources, and monitor timelines and costs.
  • Collaboration and communication: Act as the primary point of contact with external suppliers, collaborating on technical issues, and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Quality and compliance: Ensure that all manufacturing activities and documentation comply with relevant quality standards (e.g. ISO), regulatory requirements, and environmental restrictions (e.g. RoHS).
  • Performance monitoring: Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track the manufacturer's performance in terms of quality and provide regular reports on CM performance.
  • Continuous improvement: Lead and participate in initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality through methods like analyzing and optimizing the "***, method, machine, and materials".
  • Documentation and reporting: Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), batch records, and engineering documents.
  • Problem-solving: Troubleshoot production issues and lead problem-solving efforts with the contract manufacturers, including resolving non-conformance issues.
  • Change management: Coordinate engineering changes and assess their impact on the manufacturing process at the contract manufacturing partner.
  • Intellectual property protection: Ensure confidentiality clauses are in place and monitor the manufacturer's use of proprietary information and materials.

Education & Experience

  • Degree / Master in Engineering

Disciplines (Mechanical / Mechatronics / Manufacturing) or equivalent.

  • Min 5-7 years' relevant experience in the equipment manufacturing environment especially in the Low Volume and High Mix manufacturing model.
  • Direct experience working with external suppliers and contract manufacturers is essential, including qualifying and managing them to meet performance targets (cost, quality, delivery).
  • Experience in a relevant industry (e.g., semiconductor products) is often required, and knowledge of industry regulations like ISO standards.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects, including new product introductions (NPI), process transfers, equipment installation, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Technical Skills
  • Manufacturing Processes: Deep understanding of relevant manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain management.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: The ability to diagnose complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis (RCA), and use problem-solving tools like 8D or FMEA.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau) to monitor process parameters, optimize yields, and improve efficiency.
  • Quality Systems: Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and quality control framework and statistical process control (SPC).

Soft Skills and Leadership

  • Technical Leadership: Ability to provide technical guidance and work direction to other engineers and technicians.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, from production floor staff to management and external vendors.
  • Project and Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
