As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Director to join our executive team and drive excellence in our manufacturing processes.​

Job Purpose​

The Manufacturing Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our manufacturing operations, ensuring that production runs efficiently, meets quality standards, and adheres to safety regulations. This role will play a key part in developing and implementing manufacturing strategies to support the company's overall business objectives, drive cost reduction, and improve productivity.​

Key Responsibilities​

  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and improve quality and efficiency.​
  • Manage and lead a team of manufacturing managers, supervisors, and employees, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and employee engagement.​
  • Oversee the planning and scheduling of production activities to meet customer orders and delivery deadlines, ensuring optimal utilization of resources (labor, equipment, materials).​
  • Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead, and implement cost-saving initiatives where appropriate.​
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations, and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.​
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, sales, and marketing, to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing operations with other business functions.​
  • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes through the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other quality management systems.​
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing operations, and prepare regular reports for senior management.​
  • Identify and address any issues or bottlenecks in the manufacturing process to ensure smooth and efficient production.​
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in manufacturing, and recommend investments in new equipment, processes, or technologies that will improve operational efficiency and competitiveness.​

Qualifications and Experience​

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field. A master's degree (MBA or MSc) is preferred.​
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.​
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale manufacturing operations, driving process improvements, and achieving cost reduction targets.​
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and total quality management (TQM).​
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.​
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.​
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.​
  • Knowledge of relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.​
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and systems, such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), and CAD/CAM software.​
  • Ability to travel as needed to visit manufacturing facilities and attend industry events.
