Your Role And Responsibilities

role, you will contribute to advancing the company's
environmental sustainability agenda
. Reporting to the
Head of Sustainability
, you will collaborate cross-functionally to drive measurable progress toward ABB's environmental and climate commitments, ensuring robust governance, performance tracking, and stakeholder transparency.
This role is part of ABB's Robotics business, which is preparing to become an independent company. By joining us now, you'll be part of a dynamic and fast-paced organization at the forefront of robotics innovation. As we transition into a separate entity outside the ABB Group, you'll have the opportunity to shape the environmental sustainability strategy of a leading robotics player, grow your career, and work alongside world-class experts in a more agile and entrepreneurial environment. The role is designed with flexibility to contribute to other sustainability topics and initiatives as needed, supporting the evolving needs of the team.
You Will Be Mainly Accountable For
- Lead the development, implementation, and regular update of climate and environmental sustainability initiatives across ABB Robotics, including emission reduction, car fleet decarbonization, water management, waste minimization, and sustainable packaging.
- Define, coordinate, and track environmental KPIs and ESG disclosures, ensuring data quality, accountability, and timely submissions across all functions and sites.
- Support and guide site-level sustainability action plans, providing tools, targets, and training while monitoring progress and driving continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of sustainability through awareness campaigns, training, and collaboration, engaging with customers and internal stakeholders on environmental topics and audits.
- Monitor global environmental trends, regulations, and innovations, ensuring ABB Robotics stays aligned with evolving standards and priorities.
- Provide flexible support across other sustainability topics and initiatives as needed, adapting to the evolving priorities of the team
Qualifications For The Role
- Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental sustainability, ESG, or related fields within international organizations or top-tier advisory firms.
- Proven track record managing sustainability projects across multiple sites and functions, ideally within manufacturing, energy, technology, or logistics sectors.
- Strong understanding of carbon accounting, environmental management systems, and global sustainability frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi, CDP).
- Ability to translate environmental KPIs and targets into actionable business practices and measurable results.
- Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and program leadership skills, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of managing multiple priorities and working effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
