Assistant Brand Manager(Beauty)
Job Purpose:
To manage the marketing activities for a portfolio of brands, tracking performance and looking for new opportunities to develop the business and achieve the sales and profit targets"
Key Accountabilities
In addition to following Lane Crawford's policies and procedures, key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Sales and Profit
- To assist Brand Manager to maximize sales efficiency to achieve agreed KPl's performance
- To negotiate with vendors in a thorough but fair manner to secure exclusive ranges/brands and optimize the profit margin
- To evaluate weekly sales performance by brand, identify issues and develop appropriate tactical marketing activities to improve performance
- To be proactive in understanding the competition, and take action to minimize any loss of Lane Crawford market share
- To fully understand supplier cost structure and logistics costs
- To provide updates to relevant parties on key costs and expenses related to buying where necessary
- To work with Brand Manager to develop sales and marketing plans and actions to ensure the business meets the agreed vendor targets for season
- To work with the store to review sales performance by brand and align actions to drive sales, marketing activities and work together to make recommendations for changes and improvements to maximize sales potential of the brand portfolio in store
- To ensure that all materials for the monthly promotional calendar are submitted on time by the vendor
- To arrange and follow up the update of Beauty & Wellbeing VM display, and request VM approval for all marketing materials
Merchandise Management
- To assist in purchasing an appropriate range of merchandise for own bought E-business Beauty & Wellbeing brands
- To work closely with Brand Manager and Store Operation Team on planning and maintenance of planogram in each store
- To be innovative and keep abreast of upcoming trends and products by reading cosmetic-related articles
- To be familiar with both local and overseas market situations and trends
- To monitor sell-outs, ensure optimal inventory (key hero items are never out of stock, slow movers are in minimal quantities) and review/ recap sales performance after sales events
- To demonstrate a desire to understand and communicate the latest trends to customer sand staff
- To provide accurate knowledge and information to sales staff for them to communicate with the customers
Marketing Management
- To work with Brand Manager to plan strategically the annual roadshow calendar, aiming to maximize the sales opportunity for Lane Crawford
- To plan the seasonal marketing calendar for brand portfolio, ensuring they are sensitive to the customer base
- To develop specifically the marketing activities for E-commerce to appeal to our online customers
- To ensure all exclusive brands are fully supported with marketing activities that support the strategic direction of the brand and LC
- To oversee the execution of each brand marketing activity and provide support as required
- To ensure that all materials for the weekly promotional calendar are submitted and executed on time by the vendor
- To take lead in the Beauty & Wellbeing divisional beauty events that build the LaneCrawford and brand image and drive sales
- To actively initiate and take lead in the collaboration with various vendors, from a corporate level with aim to anchor our partnership and drive sales
- To analyse and evaluate the results of each promotion activity, building on success and areasfor improvement in future campaigns
Business Development
- To work with the Brand Manager to identify, plan and implement new business opportunities in China
- To work with the Brand Manager on the cosmetics strategy for new brands and major renovation projects
- To manage the business relationship with cosmetic vendors involved in the business category
- To identify opportunities to grow and develop existing brands, Develop strategies to improve performance in under-performing brands
- To identify potential opportunities for growth within existing categories
Relationship Management and Communication
- To work with vendors and show support and appreciation to encourage vendor commitment to Lane Crawford through activities such as roadshows, seminars and partnership programs
- To work closely with Group Marketing and Communication Team to deliver the brand image to the end customer through the correct communication channels
- To attend all new brand training and refresher training as appropriate and ensure staff can provide accurate knowledge and information to the customer
- To demonstrate a desire to understand and communicate with store staff and customers through weekly meeting / store visits
- To act as the key contact point with mall management for their communication with Lane Crawford Beauty & Wellbeing Division
- To assist to follow up counter touchup /upgrade with internal departments and vendors so as to ensure timely installation and sales plan
