About This Position

  • Collaboration & Support.
  • Partner with application, platform, and cloud teams on architecture reviews and new initiatives.
  • Provide on-call support for production systems and lead root-cause analysis for incidents.
  • Maintain detailed runbooks and knowledge-base documentation.

What you´ll do

  • Database Engineering & Operations:
  • Deploy, upgrade, and patch relational databases in virtualized and cloud environments (VMware, and Alibaba).
  • Design and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery architectures (clustering, replication, Always-On, streaming, etc.).
  • Participate, Implement, and monitor backup, recovery, and retention strategies.
  • Performance & Capacity Management.
  • Conduct capacity planning, indexing, and query-plan analysis.
  • Tune databases and optimize I/O, memory, and storage to meet strict SLAs.
  • Security & Compliance:
  • Apply role-based access control and participate in GRC compliance and auditing.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards (CSIS and ISO).
  • Automation & DevOps Integration.
  • Create automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python (added advantage).

What makes you a good fit

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in IT service delivery and network operations within a critical support environment.
  • Proven experience as a DBA Administrator, preferably within a data centre or enterprise infrastructure environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL and strong understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Expertise in HA/DR design, performance tuning, and large-scale backup/restore.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in English communication (spoken and written).
  • Experience with project collaboration across cross-functional IT and infrastructure teams.
