Job Title: Process Engineering Specialist
Position overview:
We are looking for an experienced process/manufacturing specialist to join our global automation team contributing to new cutting-edge automation solutions.
Role definition:
• Work as the interface of process request with R&D, manufacturing plants and other functions.
• Early engagement in R&D design work, including concept design and detailed design. To understand the design intent, functional requirements and performance requirements.
• Hands on the automation suitability assessment through the theoretical DFM/DFA/DFT analysis and manufacturability verification. The focus area includes mechanical structure rationality, mechanical dimension, tolerance design, material selection, surface treatment and manufacturing process limits.
• Draft the manufacturability verification protocol of new and existing design proposals and lead the verification with the support from internal and external resources.
• Justify the best choice of product architecture/design details by assessing the feasibility & simplicity of the associated manufacturing process·
• Provide specific, feasible and data-based design optimization proposals and drive design engineers to intake.
• Lead the overall manufacturing flow architecture design of new processes and machine layout design
• Lead the operation steps design of specific machines/processes to meet the requirement of safety, capacity, quality control and ergonomics
• Make benchmark study on new technologies of assembly, testing and inspection and confirm their industrial feasibility
• Propose & justify (investment vs. assembly cost) the most economical manufacturing process
• Qualify and launch the assembly means according to industrialization budget & schedule.
• Understand the user requirement and convert into technical requirement
• Understanding of manufacturing time (labor time, machine time, Tatk time, change over time) and efficiency calculation (KE, IE, OEE, NEE)
• Lead the manufacturing time analysis of product architectures and assembly processes
• Carry out the process analysis at a macro scale (End to End, Order to shipment) and micro sale (material loading to output), in terms of material flow, information flow and other fields
• Organize and file the process documentation in accordance with the quality system and production. Train plant staff and transfer the industrial responsibility to plants
• Evaluate the supplier competency for external supplier mapping
• Participate in technical choices with external suppliers
• Participate actively in the clarification of product & equipment during project period (offer inquiry, equipment design & troubleshooting) with external suppliers
• Review, optimize and qualify equipment solutions from external suppliers

Competent in:
• Manufacturing time measurement, time analysis and improvement (tools: MTM, MOD)
• Capacity analysis and improvement.
• Lean concept and implementation (One piece flow, SMED, PFMEA)
• Mechanical components selection and design in machine design
• 2D vision knowledge and integration
Familiar with:
• High-Precision Manufacturing and Assembly
• 2D or 3D drawing software (AUTOCAD, CREO, SOLIDWORKS)

Qualifications:
Education: University degree in Engineering (eg., Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electric Engineering/Industrial Engineering)

6+ working experience in manufacturing enterprises with demonstrated ability to execute new technology development and introduction, production line setup, continuous processes improvement at shop floors

Domestic/Oversea Travel to supplier sites or global GN sites upon project request
