Overseas Short Drama & Web Novel Products (DramaBox, Webfic)
We're searching for a visionary
Head of Design
to lead our global design team and shape the user experience strategy for our flagship overseas products:
DramaBox
(short drama platform) and
Webfic
(web novel platform). This role is for a strategic leader who can blend creative vision with data-driven decision-making, build high-performing design teams, and align design initiatives with long-term business objectives to drive global user growth and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Leadership & Strategy
: Define and execute the overall UX/UI design strategy for DramaBox and Webfic, ensuring it aligns with global market needs, user preferences, and company business goals (e.g., user acquisition, retention, monetization). Lead the design vision to differentiate our products in competitive overseas markets. - Team Management & Growth
: Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing UED/UX/UI team (including designers, researchers, and design operations roles). Set clear team goals, provide career development guidance, foster a collaborative design culture, and ensure efficient workflow and delivery standards. - Cross-Functional Collaboration & Solution Design
: Partner closely with product leadership, engineering, marketing, and content teams to co-create product roadmaps and innovative solutions. Oversee the end-to-end design lifecycle—from user research and concept ideation to final implementation—ensuring holistic, user-centric product experiences that solve key business challenges. - Data-Driven Optimization & Accountability
: Own product design performance metrics (e.g., user satisfaction scores, conversion rates, retention, design-driven A/B test results). Maintain high sensitivity to data trends and user feedback; lead the team to develop data-backed improvement plans, drive cross-functional execution, and track ROI to continuously elevate product performance. - Design System & Governance
: Establish and oversee scalable design systems, style guides, and best practices for UED/UX/UI across products. Ensure design consistency, accessibility, and efficiency; manage design documentation, research repositories, and knowledge sharing to enable team scalability and cross-market adaptation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (full-time enrollment) in Design (e.g., Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Communication, Industrial Design) or a related field. .
- 5+ years of professional UX/UI design experience, with
3+ years in a design leadership role
(managing teams of 5+ designers) for
overseas mobile products
(preferably in entertainment, content, or social sectors). Proven track record of leading design initiatives that drove measurable product growth (e.g., improved retention, higher conversion). - Deep expertise in user experience design theories, methodologies, and industry trends (e.g., mobile-first design, accessibility, personalized UX, design systems). Ability to translate global market trends and user needs into actionable design strategies.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen: Ability to connect design decisions to business outcomes, prioritize initiatives based on impact, and advocate for design as a core driver of product success.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Able to influence cross-functional teams (executives, product, engineering) and align diverse stakeholders around design goals.
