Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage assignments and client relationships with strong multitasking skills
- Keep abreast of the latest indirect tax laws and regulations, as well as current business and economic affairs to enhance your technical skills
- Assist in advising clients on a wide range of indirect tax matters, including performing tax research, exploring possible planning ideas, advising tax implications, preparing tax computations, as well as liaising with clients and tax authorities
- Conduct research on designated technical issues for projects, opinions, and advisory papers, and draft relevant documents for review
- Liaise with clients on assignments under the direction of management
- Coach junior staff, review their work, and help them develop their technical and professional capabilities
Experience & Background
- Minimum of 3 years' professional experiences in tax service environment
- Excellent financial and business analytical skills
- Preferred candidates will have indirect tax compliance and advisory experience across various sectors (e.g. financial services, TMT, industrial and manufacturing, automotive, energy and resources, new economy, consumer markets, life sciences, etc.)
- Preferred candidates will have exposure to indirect tax projects, such as supply chain structuring, export VAT refunds, cross-border trade, special customs supervision zones, consumption tax and other indirect tax matters
- Ability to think strategically and analyse complex business transactions to identify key issues and risks
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make clear recommendations based on sound assessment of information gathered
- Excellent multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex issues clearly to non-experts
- Experience in liaising with government authorities
- Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally
- Strong presentation skills, with excellent command of verbal and written English and Chinese
