- This position will cooperate with local sales, quality, and production teams and provide technical solutions for thermal spray (TS) to meet the customer's application requirements.
The role will work closely with global MCS team across different sites to develop and qualify the coating processes for customer projects and to support growth of Chinese market. Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing TS coating solutions to meet project specifications and provide industrialized processes for series production
- Cooperate with sales team to conduct feasibility checks for incoming opportunities, design the test & sampling concept, and manage the qualification process.
- Lead project management, execute project sampling and qualification, manage fixtures optimization and follow up on fixture delivery, and ensure smooth SoP of nominated projects.
- Lead the entire process of new product development, testing, and mass production and solve technical problems in mass production. To ensure the related resource are ready for entire process
- Record and summarize the testing, development process, and accumulate technical knowledge
- Actively support sales and BD activities (customer visits, market analysis, application screening and development)
- Manage TS technology and project transfer from competence center and other global sites, coordinate coating application transfer and support ramp up to serial production.
- Prepare process documents including Work Instruction, SOP etc. and ensure they are readiness for serial production.
- Conduct root cause analysis on technical issues related to coating processes and customer applications Based on rational analysis from like data summary, principal analysis or similarly history case study.
- Support production in continuously improvement for manufacturing processes (efficiency, quality…) and process standardization
- Contribute to product management (application strategy, new product/services offerings, value propositions, R&D roadmap)
- Complete the temporary urgent tasks assigned by department leader Requirements:
- Educational qualification: Bachelor's degree in material engineering or thermal spraying related education
- More than 3 years of related work experience and excellent level understanding of technical drawings and TS processes.
- Understand common machinery processes and have basic material and other professional knowledge
- Language: Fluent in both oral and written English
- Good communication skills. Teamwork spirit and structured thinking.
- Result-driven approach to solving challenges in a short time
- Can accept moderate level of travel and willing to work under pressure
- Familiar with cartographic software, like CAD, ProE, UG etc. would be a plus
- Familiar with ABB robots and able to do programming, could be a plus
