THE ROLE
Tesla is seeking a GNSS Integration Engineer. This engineer is responsible for ensuring GNSS performance is successfully achieved when integrated with other subsystems in the vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Analyze fleet performance and look for systematic problems with chassis and/or individual vehicles in the China region.
- Smoke test new build, both PE and receiver FW.
- Manage operator drives for platform validation and tests for extended campaigns
- Validate new platforms and analyze different types of errors for systematic problems
- Interface with the cross functional team to request new features, new signals, and on-vehicle alerts to help fix various issues.
- Triage in-field issues.
- Maintain and update the Signal Quality repository to parse and understand the raw messages generated by the GNSS receivers. As new receivers are tested, the message parsing will need to be updated, and tools will need to be kept current.
- Maintain and extend GNSS-vis for analyzing ground truth drives and for plotting various GNSS artifacts.
- Maintain and possibly extend the GNSS Spectrum Analyzer for factory EMI tests and in-field EMI measurements.
Requirements
MUST
- Bachelor's degrees above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or related field
- Experience in systems design, systems architecture, systems integration, or related field
- Strong electrical and embedded systems fundamentals
- Hands-on technical experience debugging complex subsystems involving network microprocessors and software-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable analyzing data independently, define KPIs used to track system performance and develop custom analytical tools
- Proficient in data visualization and statistical analysis
- Experience in MATLAB, Python or equivalent tools for modeling and analysis
- Experience working with & debugging C/C++ systems or similar real-time systems
- Experience with version control tools such as Git, SVN or equivalents
- Understanding of hardware &software development and validation process
Preferred
- Experience with GNSS experience, familiar all GNSS systems
- Experience with ethernet and/or CAN tools such as Vector CANape
- Experience in failure analysis, HARAs, and fault trees
- Familiarity with JIRA or similar task/feature tracking systems
- Experience with high volume manufacturing
- Experience with embedded systems
