On behalf of a European tier-1 automotive manufacturer, we are looking for a:

Purchasing Director

Location: Jiangsu Province, China

Report to: China CEO

Key Responsibilities

Lead the consolidation of BOM, Capex, and MRO purchasing into a unified procurement department.
Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with global restructuring goals.
Drive cultural and operational change across the procurement function, fostering initiative and accountability.
Manage procurement activities across five plants in China.
Oversee a team of ~10 direct report covering direct materials, indirect procurement, and other core supply chain functions.
Ensure cost-effective sourcing strategies for materials, logistics, and warehousing.
Collaborate closely with the C-Suite to align procurement with business objectives
Establish KPIs and performance metrics for procurement and other SC function teams.
Ensure compliance with global procurement standards and local regulations.
Optimize supplier relationships and contract negotiations.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
Minimum 15 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing sectors overseeing significant budgets (RMB 500m+).
Proven success in leading procurement transformation initiatives.
Strong understanding of BOM/materials purchasing, Capex, and MRO and experience having led other supply chain functions.
Experience managing multi-site operations and cross-functional teams.
Fluent in English and Mandarin.
