Job Overview
The Quality Engineer is responsible for the entire quality process of the product, from raw materials to finished goods, including developing/improving workshop quality control systems, raw material quality issue shooting and solution driving, out-sourced process(OSP)quality assurance and quality improvement driving, driving continuous improvement initiatives in the whole value stream, dealing with customer complaints, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements; Project Leading from New Products introduction to mass production
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to EHS, and implement EHS policies, procedures and legislative requirement.
- Demonstrate commitment to quality and implement quality management system and its related requirements.
- Build up and Improve quality assurance standards, procedures, and processes
- Perform product and process audits to ensure adherence to quality standards , including in-house auditing and suppliers auditing
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities , including in-house quality level and suppliers quality levels.
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality throughout the product lifecycle
- Lead or participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities for quality issues.
- Support, audit, and c ollaborate with suppliers to ensure quality, provide analysis to quality encountered by suppliers, and driving problem shooting solutions within limited time line.
- Support customer quality concerns and provide timely resolutions .
- All other reasonable duties as assigned
Key Skills & Competencies
- Root Cause Analysis: familiar with root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, FTA, etc.)
- Problem solving Skills: familiar with problem solving process by 8D reports, PDCA, CAPA
- Familiar with manufacturing processes and inspection methods
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Project management or continuous improvement background is a plus.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, Quality or a related field
- Experience: At least 5 years' solid experience in quality engineering of the manufacturing industry, with supplier management experience is preferred.
- Languages: Mandarin required; English reading and speaking ability preferred
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Work Environment: Shop floor-based; exposure to typical manufacturing conditions.
- Experience: Requires ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Lifting Requirements: May require lifting of items.
