This role manages the delivery of GC's environmental initiatives and performance metrics with focus on water and waste. This role supports the Global CR Lead in translating global environmental priorities into regional action plans, oversees day-to-day execution of environmental programs, manages key stakeholder relationships, and directly line-manages the Environmental Senior Specialist. Your day to day - Strategy Planning and Execution: Support the GC CR Lead in the development and localization of the GC regional environmental action plan (with focus on water and waste), ensuring alignment with global CR goals and adaptation to regional business needs. - Program Management: Lead the implementation of water conservation program and waste initiatives across GC, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful outcomes. - Stakeholder Engagement: Manage regular communication and updates with global CR, GC function teams, hotel teams and external partners (e.g., industry associations) to ensure effective collaboration and alignment with business objectives, securing stakeholder buy-in and support. - Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee the collection, validation, and analysis of environmental performance data (energy, carbon, water, waste, ECMs), and develop regular reports/presentations on CR activities, outcomes, and impacts for senior leadership. - Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance water efficiency and waste reduction, reduce environmental impact, and lower operational costs through innovation and adoption of industry best practices. - Team Leadership & Development: Line-manage the Environmental Senior Specialist, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure effective delivery of responsibilities. - Awareness & Communication: Develop and deliver localized water and waste training sessions, workshops, and awareness and communication campaigns to enhance IHG's position as a sustainability leader for both internal and external audiences.
What we need from you - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Water Resources Management, Waste Management, Sustainability, or a related field - 4–6 years of progressive experience in environmental management, sustainability, or corporate responsibility, preferably within hospitality sector. - Demonstrated experience in developing and executing environmental or waste/water programs. Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering multi-stakeholder initiatives on time and within budget. - Experience in team management or supervision. - Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively across functions and cultures. - Proven ability to analyze data, derive insights, and report on environmental performance. - Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide insights to support decision-making; proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a strong plus. - Strong written and verbal English and Chinese communication skills. - Advanced proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS SharePoint.
