工作职责

  • Research on novel / innovative algorithms and solutions in the field of video compression and in the related fields of image/video signal processing; 2. Participate in international standardization meetings (mainly, JVET meetings), present and promote TCL's technologies to next-generation video coding standards; 3. Research on innovative algorithms in the field of artif4. Implement the innovative algorithms on top of the reference software (such as VTM, ECM, and NNVC) and optimize existing algorithms; 5. Conduct comprehensive tests and participate in improving automation scripts; 6. Initiate and create research ideas as well as contribute to research work that leads to technology transfer, conference and journal publications, and intellectual property (primarily, patents); 7. Prepare patent disclosures and communicate with patent attorneys to convert your patent disclosures into patent applications; 8. Prepare technical reports on your research activity and obtained results.

任职要求

  • Advanced degree (PhD or Master's) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; 2. Scientific proficiency: solid skills in at least 2 of the following items: Digital signal processing, linear algebra, probability theory; Still picture and/or video coding, processing; Basic understanding of hybrid video coding frameworks and familiarity with at least one of video coding standards (such as H.264, H.265/HEVC, VVC, VP9, AV1), at least a brief acquaintance with new video coding tools included into ECM; ML/AI-based signal processing, NN architectures and NN training methods. Expertise in the following fields or experience with the following software would be a big plus: Hands-on experience with reference / test model / exploration model software (such as JM, KTA, HM, JEM, VTM, ECM), hands-on abilities to analyze, modify, refactor and port coding tools (preferably in VTM/ECM); experience with NNVC is a plus; In-depth knowledge of video coding standards such as H.264, H.265/HEVC, VVC, VP9, AV1; Experience with codecs and utilities of FFmpeg; 3. Programming skills and familiarity with frameworks: C/C++ (more preferably, C++17) and Python (hands-on experience with scientific Python packages, e.g., NumPy, SciPy, etc. is a plus). Fluency with other programming or scripting languages such as bash, Perl, R, Rust, Ruby, Go is a plus; Experience with version control systems: git (and hands-on experience with gitlab/github platforms); Publicly available repository (e.g., on github), commits or recognized contributions to a publicly available software project is a plus; Experience with Linux (or another POSIX-compatible) environment is a plus; 4. Language and communication skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken), not lower than Upper Intermediate level.
