Lead Application Development Engineer - Electronics
Summary
- Being technical expert in application development, customer optimized process for Electronics Materials business in south China in different electronics segments;
- Lead Great China customer technical support and application development for Display market segment.
- Lead customer communication on technical topics including customer needs validation & clarification, technical data alignment & test calibration, technical solution offering with closely collaborated with global peers.
- Provide technical solutions including product portfolio recommendation, application knowledge development and process window recommendation/optimization to customers to support business growth.
- Support marketing activities like trade show, seminar, marcom tools development and live webinar in South China to enhance brand awareness & customer intimacy
- lead application development collaborated with sales team to explore new applications and new markets, solid contribution in NPI project and create valid data package
Responsibilities Include
Laboratory work
- Contribution on applications development which address market and customer needs.
- Support new product launches with lab evaluation which showcase the performance of the new product and coach internal commercial team and external customers with data package creation and application guidance.
- Create the instructions/guidelines with the response on main customers' technical questions and issues
- Establish and define a safe laboratory environment in accordance with applicable quality standards. Sets example and is viewed as role model for younger members of the team.
NPIs/NPCs support
- Engage into innovation projects as technical expertise, supporting sample delivery, customer trial run, material inquiries and feedback collection etc.
- Expertise understanding of customer needs, able to address new needs in customer activities.
- Work with marketing manager to conduct VOCs collection and NPI commercialization as a technical lead
- Train/Mentor ADEs and communicate to non-technical organizations in new technologies and applications.
Support Marketing, Sales and Technology
- Work closely with marketing, sales, technology and other supporting functions as a technical expert to identify new business opportunities to drive growth for EM business.
- Lead on internal technical sharing sessions and management data bases including product technical files, internal data package, external test reports from institute etc;
- Develop the relations with other suppliers to be aware of new raw materials coming to the market to be able to develop modern and trendy formulations, also to have the access for the raw materials samples from other suppliers
- Lead global ADEs workshops focusing on formulations development education, discussion on customers' issues, raw materials promotion ideas creation and etc.
- Create and share information internally: new presentations, marketing concepts, products promotional ideas as well as lab work findings, new benefits and performance of Momentive or competitive products.
Customers/Distributors support
- Lead customer onsite technical support to validate customer issues, collect onsite information, understand customer needs and work on issue shooting & root cause analysis Provide strong customer support related to the use and claim substantiation of new and existing products.
- Clear understanding of Products benefits in development and proposed applications. Follow up on customer projects and proactive communication to management.
- Join customer audit as application development expert to support business growth
- Create promotional literature and other tools (flyers/new presentations/videos/demonstrations) to support worldwide distribution teams and provide regular trainings for them
Proactive marketing activities
- Be an active participant of exhibitions/seminars/other events
- Good understanding of Market trends and the ability to use this knowledge while talking with external and internal customers. Trends presentation creation together with Marketing managers
- Be the voice of MPM for the specific Sub Segment at international meetings
Qualifications
The following are

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or above in polymer science, chemistry, material science or related field
- 10 + years of experience in specialty chemical in Technical relevant roles.
- Customer orientation and good communication skills
- Be integrated, accountable, hardworking and studious
- Expertise chemical knowledge and capable to apply application test solve customer issues
- Fluent English both in oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding Six Sigma, DOE and new technology introduction process
- Experience in VDA6.3 or APQP practice for specialties chemicals preferred
