Job Description:

Business Strategy & Product Development

  • Develop and execute China-specific FCL business strategies to meet or exceed revenue, profit, and market share targets, leveraging DHL's global network and local market insights
  • Lead collection and analysis of China FCL market intelligence.
  • Drive design, launch and optimization of China-market FCL services. Define clear value propositions for new services and partner with sales to develop training for consistent customer communication.

Team Management & Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-functional FCL team with a focus on fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Set clear performance objectives for the team, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching to drive professional growth and retention.
  • Ensure effective cross-departmental collaboration to deliver integrated logistics solutions for customers.

P& L Management

Trade budget achievement; capacity planning&execution; performance management

Product pricing&Yield

Local procurement; Yield optimization

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Oversee end-to-end FCL operations, including carrier selection, route optimization, cargo booking, documentation, and on-time delivery, to ensure operational efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Implement and maintain DHL's global operational standards and compliance requirements, including adherence to local regulations and international trade rules.
  • Proactively address operational issues and implement corrective actions to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.

Customer Relationship Management & Service Quality

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and key carriers to secure preferential rates, capacity guarantees, and long-term partnerships.
  • Monitor customer feedback and lead initiatives to enhance service quality
  • Ensure the team delivers consistent, high-quality customer service that aligns with DHL's brand promise of "Excellence. Simply Delivered.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Manage the FCL business's P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to ensure profitability.
  • Prepare regular business reports for senior leadership, providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.

Carriers/Suppliers Management

  • Develop and maintain a diversified, high-performance carrier/supplier network for China's FCL business, including screening, onboarding, and regular evaluation of carriers to ensure capacity stability, cost competitiveness, and service quality.
  • Negotiate long-term partnership agreements with core carriers to secure preferential rates, priority capacity, and flexible terms
  • Monitor carrier performance and resolve partnership issues proactively; optimize the carrier portfolio annually to remove underperforming partners and onboard new ones that align with DHL's sustainability and service standards.

Product Service Delivery

  • Allocation management; service quality
  • Capacity management and yield(GP) optimization on all China export trade
  • Maintains and drives the routing guide for assigned trade and acts as gatekeeper for data quality
  • Maintains Customer and Carrier prioritization and manages client level allocation
  • Manage booking to carrier, monitor the key milestones and exception
  • Maintain carrier relationship and execute local procurement

Finance & Projects

  • Responsible for the CN FCL product p/l
  • Manage and monitor the yield improvement plan
  • Develop BC growth plan

People Management

  • Responsible for operational management, Traffic management, Technical support (buying, capacity etc.) in district
  • Set OFR specific policies, standards and instructions in alignment with Global, Regional & Country OFR
  • Take part in defining and communicating targets to operational units on district/branch level
  • Support Customer Implementations of new customer solutions and processes
  • Communicate and monitor the deployment of regional and country policies and procedures, while allowing localisation to meet local environment needs & requirements
  • Develop a culture of quality, service excellence, flexibility and cost consciousness.
  • Develop a team spirit and multitasking capabilities within the team.
  • Plan, organise and direct an efficient and effective function.
  • Develop IKOs/KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.
  • Conduct performance appraisal, including coaching
  • Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of district objectives and targets.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional team.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Fluent both in spoken and writing
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in ocean freight logistics, with at least 5 years in a senior management role within a global logistics company
