Service Description
The MDEs provide end to end manufacturing process solutions for all A*ple components on A*ple product. The manufacturing process development covers all aspects from equipment, consumables, process parameters, setups, to full qualification. We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Senior Process Design Engineer to join our dynamic Process Design team. In this critical role, you will be the subject matter expert in roll-to-roll lamination, driving innovation and operation excellence in our manufacturing processes from NPI to Ramp Stage. You will be instrumental in optimizing existing machinery, elevating supplier capabilities, and ensuring the highest standards of cosmetic and dimensional performance for our products.
• Serve as the primary industry expert for roll-to-roll lamination processes, specifically
involving polymer films and PSA.
• Provide hands-on expertise and guidance on roll-to-roll lamination machine
specifications, with a strong focus on critical lamination parameter design setup like
tension control/lamination angle and speed.
• Lead initiatives to upgrade and optimize current existing lamination machinery, enhancing efficiency, precision, and output quality.
• Collaborate closely with domestic/oversea suppliers to develop and improve their
capabilities
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex lamination process issues, ensuring robust and
repeatable manufacturing.
• You are responsible to lead your team to deliver a best-in-class process that meets Apple
product designs, industrial design requirements with high manufacturing yield and
efficiency.
• In development phase, you will manage process development/selections which meets our
quality and manufacturing criteria, and drive implementation in our contract
manufacturing site to support engineering builds.
• In mass production, you will manage continuous improvement from both process and
operation aspect to achieve high yield and manufacturing efficiency.
• Build and use effective engineering framework to guide your team to drive effective
technical path to close.
• Provide leadership, cross functionally to enable a successful ramp of your site.

Work collaboratively with Global Supply Managers to ensure process decision is aligned
with supply and commercial team.
• Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Design Quality team to drive yield improvements and solve quality issue (both in house and cross supply chain).
Key Service Requirements
• 5+ years of hands-on process development experience in roll-to-roll lamination,
specifically with PET, OCA, and CPI materials.
• Deep expertise in tension control systems and critical lamination parameter optimization
(e.g., temperature, pressure, speed).
• Proven experience in optimizing and upgrading lamination machinery to improve cosmetic and dimensional quality.
• Strong background in supplier development and capability enhancement, with experience working closely with domestic and international equipment suppliers.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with Product Design and Quality teams to
ensure manufacturability and high-volume production readiness.
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials
Science, or a related field.
• Basic communication skills and fluent English is a plus.
