Role Overview
The Software Development Engineer for Network Monitoring & Alerts will work on advanced network technologies to monitor real-time data center network status, detect and locate faults quickly, and improve overall network availability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and enhance network monitoring services for data centers, including tools for data collection, processing, and visualization.
- Develop alert systems using machine learning algorithms for real-time anomaly detection and fault localization.
- Collaborate with network engineers to build automated fault diagnosis systems and provide analytical support for troubleshooting.
- Build a network data platform based on metadata to deliver real-time metrics reflecting network health and trends.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering; advanced degrees with networking research experience are a plus.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python) and ability to understand code written by others.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in network monitoring and alert systems.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and the TCP/IP stack.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical or research experience in network monitoring and alert systems, with a solid foundation in big data processing.
- Familiarity with switch monitoring technologies such as Telemetry, SNMP, Syslog, sFlow, ERSPAN, INT, etc.
