Position Overview

The Customer Product Planning role is a critical position responsible for coordinating the global Request for Quotation (RFQ) process across multiple regions. This individual will ensure design alignment, establish cost benchmarks, and define optimal product locations. The role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional with strong project management and cross-functional communication skills to support effective product planning and cost optimization on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the global RFQ process, working closely with regional teams to ensure consistent design alignment and adherence to product requirements.
  • Benchmark costs across regions by analyzing supplier quotations, cost structures, and market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Define and recommend product locations based on strategic business, cost, and operational considerations.
  • Develop and maintain a master costed Bill of Materials (BOM) for each region, ensuring all components are accurately costed and reflect the latest design changes.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking of component costs across regions to ensure competitiveness and support negotiation strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, finance, and supply chain teams to collect, validate, and analyze data for effective decision-making.
  • Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and recommendations to management regarding cost trends, design alignment, and location strategies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product planning, cost management, and cross-regional coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in product planning, cost engineering, procurement, or related functions within a manufacturing or technology-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in cost modeling, benchmarking, and data analysis.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities, with a proven track record of managing complex, cross-regional initiatives.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and cultures.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant ERP or cost management systems.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
