What does a Lead Studio Artist do at Hogarth?
As a Lead Studio Artist at Hogarth, you'll play a key facilitator role, overseeing a team of skilled artists in producing high-quality visuals for global and local campaigns. You'll combine your technical expertise with strategic thinking to ensure efficient workflow, resource management, and client satisfaction. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the creative output of the team and act as a hybrid talent across design and artworking. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, mentoring and inspiring your team to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, prepare, localize both print and digital artworks for production or implementation using Adobe Creative Suite software, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and technical specifications.
 - Collaborate with Production Designer to develop, adapt, re-adjust tatical layouts for both offline and online use. Client's brand guidelines and requirements are met and fulfilled within the process, while ensuring the layouts are feasible for execution and production.
 - Work seamlessly with project management, studio manager, and print production teams to deliver smooth project execution.
 - Build screen imagery in Photoshop format, with extensive usage and application of "Smart Objects", "Layer Styles", and "Adjustment Layers".
 - Act as a brand QC/Guardian – always ensure brand guidelines, QC checklists and procedures are followed.
 - Provide guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback to a team of Studio Artists, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
 - Manage the briefing process for the team, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project requirements.
 - Identify challenges during the projects on behalf of studio, as well as opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and quality control processes, contributing to the continuous improvement of the studio's operations.
 - Establish and maintain close working relationship with Studio Manager and Production Designer to close the gaps between design and artworking, and ultimately deliver quality static works end-to-end, as one team.
 - Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams, ensuring clear expectations and project success.
 
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of working experience as studio artist or designer / art director and familiar with the process from layout design to final artworks.
 - Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
 - Deep understanding of print production, colour retouching, and digital artwork creation.
 - Fine art sense in visual balance, typography, consistency and other aspects to produce quality artworks, based on the good understanding of client's brand guidelines, design intent, touchpoints, and consumer bahaviors.
 - Strong attention to detail, meticulous quality control skills, and a commitment to producing flawless work.
 - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
 - Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
 - A collaborative and team-oriented approach, with a passion for mentoring and developing others.
 - Significant experience working with branding, design, and marketing teams, demonstrating a strong understanding of client needs and industry best practices.
 - Experience supporting art directors and designers, showcasing the ability to translate creative vision into production-ready artwork.
 - Adaptability, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a willingness to learn new workflows and technologies.
 - Good English capability in reading and writing.
 - Proficiency in macOS and working softwares.
 - Experience with packaging and printing technology is a plus.
 - Candidates must be able to work onsite with the client full time, up to 10 hours per day, 6 days per week, potentially 3 times per year.
