Job Overview
We are looking for a committed Compliance Specialist to oversee daily sanctions screening, evaluate system alerts, and assist the Sanctions and Export Control team. This position plays a crucial role in upholding strong compliance standards and reducing risks associated with sanctions throughout our operations. Working closely with diverse teams globally offers prospects for advancement in an active compliance setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily screenings for sanctions on clients and ships through automated platforms.
- Aid the Sanctions and Export Control Officer in handling daily compliance inquiries.
- Evaluate system alerts to differentiate between accurate and inaccurate matches.
- Perform sanctions screening for vessels advanced to Compliance for review.
- Maintain detailed records of screening activities, decisions, and supporting documentation.
What You Bring
- No strict education requirements, but a master's degree in Law, International Business, Finance, Political Science, or Compliance is advantageous.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, AML, or similar fields is beneficial.
- Comfortable working extensively with internal IT systems (e.g., D365), ServiceNow, and external sanctions screening tools (training provided).
- Strong command of written and verbal English; Mandarin proficiency is an asset.
- Excellent research, analytical skills, attention to detail, sound decision-making abilities, and an attitude geared towards continuous growth.
