Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizes and facilitates key Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
- Acts as a coach to the Scrum Team and other stakeholders, promoting Agile principles and values.
- Collaborates closely with the Product Owner to ensure a well-maintained Product Backlog and a clear understanding of priorities.
- Ensures that Scrum artifacts, such as burndown charts, are maintained and accessible to the team and stakeholders.
- Facilitates and supports the Scrum Team in continuous improvement efforts, including adjustments to processes and practices.
- Ensures that the Scrum framework, including roles, events, and artifacts, is understood and followed by the Scrum Team.
- Assists the team in understanding and using Agile metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Provides training and guidance to the team and stakeholders on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and roles.
- Ensures the Agile team meets its commitments and enables an environment where the team feels safe to push the boundaries of learning and growth.
- Removes impediments blocking the team's progress.
- Coordinate with other teams including other Scrum Leads, Agile Coaches, and Release Train Engineers.
Job Requirements
- Sufficient technical knowledge to understand the work being done by the development team, not necessarily coding skills
- Understanding of Agile metrics and analytics to track progress, measure team performance, and identify areas for improvement
- Ability to identify and manage risks associated with project delivery and team dynamics
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members, stakeholders, and management, ensuring transparency and understanding
Decision Authority
- Leads projects or work streams independently and contributes to their planning
- May act as professional expertise information resource for colleagues in own area, advising on a particular topic with a degree of authority
- Requires advanced problem-solving skills involving filtering, interpretation and validation of dynamic information
- Works independently, receives minimal guidance
- May coordinate resources for a small team and contribute to the effectiveness of their contributions to the broader area
