FPSO Compressor Area Engineer - China
We are seeking an experienced Gas Turbine & Compressor Area Engineer to provide technical oversight and supervision of FPSO rotating equipment during construction at a major shipyard in Tianjin. The role is responsible for ensuring that all gas turbine and compressor systems are installed, aligned, and pre-commissioned to the highest safety, quality, and project standards.
The successful candidate will act as the technical focal point for rotating machinery, supporting contractors, vendors, and the project management team throughout the construction and pre-commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise installation, alignment, integration, and pre-commissioning of FPSO Gas Turbines and Compressors.
- Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and procedures for compliance.
- Oversee FATs, SATs, and pre-commissioning activities, ensuring quality and HSE requirements are met.
- Support punch list clearance and system handover to commissioning teams.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
- Monitor progress, risks, and deviations, reporting regularly to the Project Management Team.
- Promote and ensure strict adherence to HSE standards across all rotating equipment activities.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Rotating Equipment, or related discipline.
- 5–8 years' experience in FPSO, offshore oil & gas, or large industrial projects, with specific focus on rotating equipment (Gas Turbines and Compressors).
- Hands-on experience with installation, supervision, alignment, and integration of OEM packages (e.g., Siemens, GE, Solar Turbines, MAN, Dresser-Rand).
- Strong knowledge of international standards (API, ASME, ISO, NEMA) and QA/QC requirements.
- Previous experience in yard construction and multicultural environments.
- Fluent in English; Mandarin is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, coordination, and reporting skills.
