Position Overview:
Our client, a leading private equity fund house in Asia, is seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join their legal team in Beijing. This role is ideal for a U.S.-qualified lawyer with native Mandarin fluency and a strong foundation in M&A or fund formation, looking to transition into a high-impact in-house role within one of the region's most prestigious investment platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support on cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures, and portfolio company matters.
- Assist in fund formation and structuring, including drafting and negotiating fund documentation and side letters.
- Collaborate with investment professionals and external counsel to manage legal risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead and coordinate legal due diligence and transaction execution.
- Stay abreast of legal and regulatory developments affecting private equity and fund management in China and globally.
Candidate Profile:
- Native fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written) is essential.
- Qualified lawyer (U.S. or PRC) with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Solid training from a white-shoe or top-tier international law firm, with a focus on M&A or fund formation.
- Strong academic credentials, ideally from an Ivy League or equivalent institution.
- Commercially minded, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.
- Open to relocating to Beijing; relocation support will be provided.
