Job Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and Mandarin-speaking Camera Product Manager to join their dynamic team in India. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the highest standards of camera quality and image aesthetics for the company's smartphone brands, serving diverse markets across Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, and other emerging regions. The position involves leading camera testing initiatives, managing issue resolution, developing local testing protocols, and establishing reliable test environments to support high-quality imaging outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented professional with strong technical and aesthetic understanding of photography and image processing. You will collaborate closely with the Image Technology team to conduct iterative testing, refine performance standards, and deliver continuous product improvements. This role requires independence, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, ensuring that every product meets exceptional visual and experiential standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end product planning, development, and lifecycle management for software functions and application products.
  • Design and execute test plans for camera effects and high-quality imaging projects, track issues, and drive timely resolution.
  • Develop and update localized test cases and quality standards; set up and maintain test environments.
  • Perform professional photo retouching using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or Capture One, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and user expectations.
  • Apply advanced beauty retouching techniques and create diverse image effects to appeal to target audiences.
  • Stay current with fashion, beauty, and imaging trends to continuously elevate product visual quality.
  • Gather and analyze user feedback on retouched images through structured surveys and questionnaires.
  • Work closely with the Image Technology team to conduct iterative tests and report results, ensuring high standards of image quality.

Candidate Requirements

  • Open to Chinese native, a Mandarin speaker who is able to travel to India without visa issues (either has a visa or can apply for an Indian visa).
  • Educational Qualification: A full-time undergraduate degree or higher.
  • Experience: Over 5 years of experience in product development, product management, and lifecycle management of camera or imaging.
  • Industry Expertise: Consumer Electronics, especially Mobile Phones, Smartphones, etc.
  • Preferred Expertise: Candidates with prior experience as bloggers, photographers, mobile product KOLs, or those with educational backgrounds in photography, art, or computer programming.
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent command of English and Mandarin on professional and business level.
  • Technical & Creative Skills:

  • Passion for photography and selfies, with a keen eye for image quality and aesthetics.

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Skilled in professional photo retouching and image enhancement processes.

  • Professional Skills:

  • Strong sense of ownership and execution.

  • Creative, proactive, and able to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to accept long-term overseas assignments.
