About The Position
As Country Manager, China you will be based out of Shanghai and report directly to the Vice President of Greater North Asia. You will be responsible for managing and developing the growing Masimo's business in the region.
China is expected to deliver double-digit growth for the foreseeable future and the Country Manager will be expected to accomplish this through distributors and OEMs. While primarily focused on sales, this individual must also have high proficiency in marketing, regulatory, reimbursement, P&L management, etc.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing a company's operations in China
- Developing and implementing business strategies, and adapting global strategies to the local market
- Ensuring compliance with local regulations
- Achieving financial objectives, such as profit and revenue targets
- Managing budgets, including tracking operating costs and revenues
- Recruiting, evaluating, and managing local staff, including performance monitoring and training
- Fostering relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Preparing reports for Vice President of Greater North Asia
- Representing the organization
- Preparing courses and training materials for local staff
- Evaluating business risks and new projects
- Maximizes growth potential of all Masimo products in China, whether sold through distributors or OEMs
- Develops and nurtures the Masimo China team to create a successful business operation in China
- Ensure timely registration and reimbursement of all Masimo products
- Directly engage in selling of accounts including demonstration, clinical evaluation and hands-on
- Participate in programs to build and maintain end-user awareness (e.g., trade show, symposium, advertising)
- Track and address market trends / competitive activities
- Harness and protect Masimo proprietary & confidential information
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree
- Strong communication and networking skills
- 10+ years of direct/indirect selling experience combined with sales / business management
- 10+ years of experience in the medical device/ equipment industry
- Strong working knowledge of marketing, regulatory, forecasting, reimbursement etc.
- Proven track record of growing businesses through distributors and 'direct' teams
- Thorough understanding of the government tender process
- Demonstrated experience working with OEM sales forces
- Fluent and able to conduct business in Mandarin & English. Shanghainese & Cantonese a plus
- Experience working in both large structured and small entrepreneurial organizations.
- Demonstrated self-starter; a "hands-on" individual who enjoys challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Results oriented with a positive "can do" attitude and a sense of urgency
- Comfortable in high visibility situations and exhibits strong self-confidence
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively
- Advanced computer skills as well as excellent organizational, communication, writing, and project management skills
