We're currently looking for a
Head of Innovation
, Foodservice APAC
. In this position, you will be responsible for the design and development of new packaging solutions required to answer the global & regional customer's needs, trends, markets & legislations requirements. You will manage internal & external stakeholders and manage the projects together with the customers, with technology or material providers and in some cases take the overall technical responsibilities towards the customer.
You will report to Head of Innovation, Fiber & Foodservice and be part of the Innovation organization. The role also works closely with the regions and manufacturing sites to develop technologies, products and materials that provide growth opportunities along with efficiency improvements and margin enhancement.

You will be located at our Guangzhou plant in Guangzhou, China and you should be within reasonable commuting distance from here.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and deploy key products and technologies for Foodservice APAC
- Identify new business opportunities in close cooperation with the commercial team to enable sustainable profitable growth
- Lead the entire product development process, including risks management and timings
- Own the innovation project portfolio including reporting within the area of responsibility
- Manage communication with internal & external stakeholders
- Manage the supplier base and actively scout potential technology partners (eco-system)
- Organize and assist trial activities with Huhtamaki sites, suppliers or partners
- Deal with IP topics within the area of responsibility in close cooperation with segment IP manager
- Work closely with other innovation stakeholders to ensure mutual knowledge- and technology-sharing across segments and regions
- Organization and/or participation in internal and external co-creation workshop to constantly fuel the Foodservice APAC innovation pipeline
- Own the specifications creation from a technical and commercial perspective
- Identify and close potential capability gaps linked to innovation
What You'll Bring To The Role
- Master's Degree in packaging or technical engineering discipline
- 5+ years experience in product development and project management in an international environment ("senior profile with managerial experience")
- Ideally proven people management skills
- Intimate knowledge of the Chinese and/or Asian market (business and supplier ecosystem)
- Strong communication skills, ability to fluently communicate in Chinese and English
- Ability to manage and deliver multiple complex projects
- Ability to manage a regional project portfolio
- Proven track record of successfully managing customer and supplier relationships
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Customer- and result-oriented
- Strong team player, able to engage and harness existing resources
- Willingness to travel across the region
