Education Required:

General Description:
The Director Manufacturing Systems GTS will be a member of the Global Technology Solutions team and be the Technology Business Partner for the Suzhou campus. In this role, the individual will be the primary point of contact for all GTS topics, collaborate, provide technology leadership and governance and support the site business teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Automation & Supply Chain organization. The individual will partner with the site business teams in providing holistic technology solutions that support business strategy & operations, realize value, and transform our ways of working.
The individual must be a self-starter and demonstrate excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate and collaborate with employees, partners, and management at all levels. This is a hands-on leadership role who will manage a team while also leading projects independently.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Serve as the GTS Site Lead and primary point of contact for the Suzhou campus and develop effective business relationships with key Manufacturing leaders and stakeholders
- Lead the overall design, development, and maintenance of manufacturing solutions for the Suzhou Manufacturing sites
- Support strategy and ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations at the manufacturing plants
- Review and assess demand requests, explore new ideas and enhancements, relating to Manufacturing Technologies, AI, Engineering, Digital 4.0, data integration & analytics
- Lead/support site and regional projects and ongoing business-driven change initiatives leading to value driven business cases and well-defined implementation plans
- Act as the principal interface between Site Manufacturing and GTS to solicit and formulate and manage implementation plans (including vendor proposals/ contracts), engage cross-functional stakeholders, execute technology projects, and measure business outcomes/ROI for investments
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with Manufacturing & regional/global GTS colleagues
- Leverage shared services where applicable, drive economies of scale and value realization through process and technology harmonization and aligning with the global GTS strategy
- Partner with key stakeholders to ensure robust investment governance, lead development of business cases and measuring project outcomes
- Generate and maintain a strategic site digital roadmap for the Manufacturing capability, with ongoing demand management, resource management, release planning and drive incremental capabilities
- Monitor external industry trends and supplier capabilities with a view for continuous improvement
- Experience in developing strategies for new product introduction and new technology deployment
- Robust design and architectural skills and have proven record in building and supporting scalable systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Will have technical leadership or supervisory responsibilities over the site Manufacturing technology team.
- Strong team player, who engages with peers to define, sponsor, and execute continuous improvements.
- Solid leadership, technical writing, and communication/presentation skills
- Ability to quickly assimilate knowledge of new platforms, languages, tools and technologies
Other Qualifications:
- 10+ years' experience in pharma/biotech manufacturing or operations environment leading teams
- In-depth experience with software lifecycle methodologies, business analysis and process mapping, 21CFR Part 11 compliance, Quality Management System, Computer systems validation (CSV).
- 7+ years' experience with any of the following shop floor and automation platforms: PAS, BAS, MES, CMMS other Manufacturing platforms. Validation practices (GAMP)
- Experience authoring and reviewing standard operating procedures, on-the-job-training, and other controlled documents
- Experience in managing small to medium-sized projects and outside vendors
- Familiarity with DevOps concepts, agile development, web and mobile application engineering technologies, database and data integration technologies
- Fluent communication in both Chinese and English is a MUST
Travel:
• Position will be based in Suzhou, willing up to 20% domestic travel.
