As a Business Development Executive (BDE) at SoftwareOne, you will focus on driving business growth for Microsoft Data and Analytics solutions, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, Power BI, Azure AI Services, and related offerings.
You will engage with enterprise customers to identify their needs around data modernization, analytics, and AI transformation, and work with internal solution architects and Microsoft ecosystem partners to develop and close opportunities that deliver measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Account Management
· Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities related to Microsoft Data & AI solutions.
· Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders (CIOs, CTOs, Data Leads, Business Owners).
· Manage the full sales lifecycle — from lead generation to deal closure — focusing on Azure Data and AI opportunities.
· Collaborate closely with Account Managers and Solution Architect to co-sell and co-develop customer engagement strategies.
- Microsoft Data Solution Sales
· Promote and position Microsoft Data and AI solutions, including:
o Microsoft Fabric – Unified data analytics and governance platform
o Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB
o Power BI & Data Visualization Solutions
o Azure AI Services, Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services
· Translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value propositions.
· Partner with Pre-Sales Architects and Delivery Teams to develop proposals, solution designs, and pricing.
- Market & Ecosystem Engagement
· Drive joint go-to-market activities with Microsoft, including customer workshops, events, and marketing campaigns.
· Stay current on Microsoft's product roadmap, licensing models, and Data & AI strategy to ensure customer alignment.
· Collaborate with other SoftwareOne business units (Cloud, Security, Modern Work) to deliver end-to-end Microsoft solutions.
- Sales Targets & Reporting
· Achieve quarterly and annual revenue and margin targets (pipeline generation, bookings, gross profit).
· Maintain accurate sales forecasts and opportunity updates in CRM (Dynamics 365).
· Provide market insights, competitive analysis, and feedback to support strategic business planning.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or Business Administration.
· 3+ years of experience in Microsoft solution sales or enterprise cloud/data business development.
· Strong understanding of the Azure Data & AI stack, including Synapse, Fabric, Data Factory, Power BI, and Azure AI.
· Familiar with data governance, BI, and AI-driven decision-making scenarios.
· Experience in Microsoft co-sell motions or partner ecosystem collaboration is a plus.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate business value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic, team-based environment.
