- Proficient in troubleshooting technical electronic equipment. Summary Metrix Instruments is hiring a driven leader to launch production operations at our Shanghai facility. The role will oversee a small team, with plans to expand over the next two to three years, while driving lean process improvements and ensuring operational efficiency. This hands-on role drives lean manufacturing improvements, ensuring process capability and repeatability. The successful candidate must be fluent in English and able to travel to USA for training. Essential Tasks & Duties:
- Manage staffing, hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations to maintain an agile workforce.
- Supervise daily operations, ensuring adherence to productivity and quality standards.
- Support assembly, quality, and warehouse tasks to meet production targets.
- Coordinate scheduling and material readiness with Assembly, Supply Chain, and Planning.
- Monitor production status and make real-time adjustments to meet deadlines.
- Oversee preventive maintenance to maximize safety and equipment uptime.
- Resolve customer concerns, ensuring alignment with shipping and quality standards.
- Lead inventory management, including cycle counting and order fulfillment.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective actions for process improvements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to enhance workflows and reduce costs.
- Optimize workforce utilization, workspace layout, and safety measures.
- Stay current on industry trends in Quality and Process Improvement.
- Refine workflows to eliminate bottlenecks and achieve operational objectives.
- Strengthen production processes and SOPs for consistency and compliance.
- Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives, including scrap reduction and Customer PPM enhancement.
- Provide high-level troubleshooting for equipment as needed. ________________________________________ Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management and engineering to optimize production processes.
- Communicate operational priorities for effective planning and procurement.
- Process customer orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with lead times.
- Train department personnel for strong job performance.
- Supervise all personnel within assigned department(s).
- Adapt to changes and handle additional responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment per 5S and safety standards.
- Travel to the U.S. for training and other business needs.
- Attend before/after-hours MS Teams meetings with U.S. teams as required. ________________________________________ Qualifications: Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing/ industrial engineering or related field preferred, (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing/production.
- At least 3 years of supervisory/management experience. Knowledge & Skills:
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Proven expertise in technical analysis, process improvement, and quality assurance systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Proficient in troubleshooting technical equipment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective time management skills.
- Technical knowledge of vibration instrumentation industry is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. ________________________________________ Working Conditions: Split time between office and manufacturing plant environments, with periodic exposure to noise levels, chemical compounds, and fumes related to electronic/mechanical component assembly. ________________________________________ Physical Requirements: Frequent sitting and standing and walking. Vision and hearing must meet average standards.
