Director – Investment

About the role:
We have partnered with a global real estate group that had a strong track record in China and presence across the Asia region. They are seeking a strategic and driven senior level individual to lead and execute investment initiatives across key cities in China. This role requires a strong investment mindset, analytical rigor, and the ability to manage projects across the full investment lifecycle. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in sourcing and executing asset-light opportunities and strategic investments that align with their growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Strategy & Execution
- Lead the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities, including:
- Asset-light development management projects
- Asset-light asset management initiatives
- Direct investments in existing assets, distressed assets, and opportunities from peers, AMCs, and international GPs
- Manage the full investment lifecycle from origination to execution and post-investment performance tracking
Project Leadership
- Act as project leader and manager across multiple initiatives
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver investment and development outcomes
- Prepare and present investment proposals and business cases to senior leadership
Market Intelligence & Relationship Building
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including developers, asset managers, financial institutions, and government bodies
- Monitor market trends and identify emerging opportunities particularly in logistics and industrial real estate
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in real estate investment, development management, or asset management
- Min 10 years' relevant experience in real estate investment – with a proven track record of originating and executing investments.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with a logical approach to problem-solving
- Excellent writing and presentation skills; able to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage stakeholders effectively
- Familiarity with China's real estate market, particularly in logistics and industrial sectors
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to sourcing opportunities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is a prerequisite
