Overview
Quality Lead in South is a critical role in Unilever China in embedding a strong culture of quality, ensuring every product delivers the satisfactory experience and delights our consumers in China and export markets. This, in turn, impacts our credibility with customers, brand reputation, and ultimately our business results in terms of both growth and GM.
The role will play as the business partner of quality to factory lead and business leadership. He/she will take care of manufacturing quality and will directly report N. Asia Beauty & Wellbeing quality head, and dotted line report to factory lead & partners with multiple internal functions and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities: End-to-end quality responsibility in Manufacturing quality itself and Customer/Consumer Feedback related to manufacturing quality.
- Define and deliver quality strategy and effective management systems,
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality control procedures,
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives,
- Leading consumer and customer complaints management and implementing corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence,
- Communicate quality objectives, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to key stakeholders,
- Management System (QMS) to ensure fully compliant products - develop and maintain all relevant procedures in line with the requirements of the Global policies and procedures,
- Ensure that the QMS is maintained in a state of inspection readiness,
- Maintain an effective Change Management system to ensure business changes are effectively managed,
- Audit/Inspection Management – Ensure that processes are in place to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the local QMS,
- Drive and deploy a digital Quality transformation program,
- Lead in the E2E Culture Quality Transformation Program,
- Lead quality team and talent development within the function.
Professional Skills & Competencies
- University degree in technical discipline or general sciences. Preferred: Biology, Engineering, Supply Chain, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Food Science degree,
- Mastery on GMP/Hygiene /Basic Regulation/Quality tools,
- Min 5 years of experience in Quality/Supply Chain/Logistics/Manufacturing/R&D roles in FMCG industry,
- Strong data analysis and insights, self-drive problem-solving and project management skills,
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders,
- Leading and developing people and creating a high performing team,
- Fluent English.
