  • The role contributes to Starbucks success by effectively developing and leading spend category sourcing strategies, effectively managing suppliers and internal networks to deliver best in class performance for beverage & dairy categories. Consistently delivers measurable and strategic goals to enable a competitive advantage to bottom-line and top-line company growth, and corporate social responsibility leadership. Collaborates effectively internally and with suppliers. Develops effective multi-year sourcing strategies to enable success.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Sourcing Strategy:

Effectively develop and lead China beverage & dairy sourcing strategies, effectively manage suppliers and internal networks to deliver best in class performance for the relevant spend area

Consistently deliver measurable and strategic goals to enable a competitive advantage to bottom-line and top-line company growth, and corporate social responsibility leadership

Effectively collaborate internally and with suppliers

Develop effective 1-3 years sourcing strategies to enable success

  • Supplier Engagement and Management:

Employ strong knowledge of key local industry players and market dynamics.

Develop new effective business and professional relationships with strategic suppliers and industry players

Professionally manage and measure suppliers for continuous performance and improvement

  • Cross-Functional Projects:

Independently solve problems and make decisions for primary and strategic execution and tactical issues within the relevant portfolio of projects and or processes.

Provide day to day oversight about spend category procurement process and perform a hands-on execution as well as process refinement role.

  • Cost Reduction and Process Optimization:

Drive cost reduction opportunity by market & commodity tracking

Collaborate with leading players to achieve win-win solution through value engineering & co-innovation

Optimize process to enable "speed to market" support model.

  • Leadership and Teamwork:

Effectively motivate and collaborate within team and across peer group.

Lead cross functional teams to develop sourcing strategy and resolve supply issue.

Operate within peer group and leadership infrastructure to ensure that best practice and leverage opportunities are delivered.

Summary of Experience

  • 7+ years procurement experience
  • 3Y+ beverage or dairy sourcing experience in MNC company
  • Bachelor degree or above
  • Sense of compliance & Integrity
  • Ability to work under pressure & uncertainty, self-motivation, wish to learn
  • Data analysis and presentation skill with clear logic

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Analytical: Advanced analytical skills
  • Procurement: Excellent knowledge of supply management, beverage commodity strategy and sourcing strategy
  • Legal: Knowledge of critical procurement legal requirements and contracting best practices
  • Ethics: Knowledge of business ethics and Starbucks Ethical Sourcing Requirements
  • Influence: Ability to influence at an Executive Level both internally and externally. Ability to lead and influence peer groups both internally and externally
  • Others: Adapted to the change, resistance to the pressure and self-motivation
