Principal Accountabilities
Leadership
Manage specific device development activities both within R&D and with nominated third party development / manufacturing partners.
Promote relevant technical guidance to R&D and Leadership team on New Category products and technology developments to ensure that they have the appropriate level of support within the function.
Promote and integrate ways of working within the development team.
Drive early phase of the product definition in connecting with Tech Blocks/Innovation projects in order to obtain sharp Technical Requirement and Maturity. Play the PULL role for Tech Blocks/Innovation projects by partnership with COE and suppliers.
Work closely with the R&D Category Manager and other core team members to implement project deliveries.
Operational
Lead the development activities for the assigned responsibilities within the team.
Accountable for Technical Requirement in the early phase of the assigned projects. Be able to link and prioritize the desired project features to the related Tech Blocks/Innovation Projects and deliver the right balance of System Engineering.
Lead projects and workstreams using a quality-based approach to device design and development in support of requirements for product launch.
Support the R&D Category Manager, where required.
Support the engagement with third party test houses to ensure ultimate compliance of products against required safety standards.
Support best practices for protecting product Intellectual Property (IP).
Ensure that activities supporting the Product Development Plan have been implemented to support the delivery of product into market.
Management
Ensure accurate budget management and tracking for development activities within the assigned responsibilities/projects in the team.
Ensure on time and in full delivery of product specifications for new product and/or product modifications.
Escalate risks and issues in a timely and appropriate manner.

Skills And Experience
Bachelor's or master's degree in an engineering or science subject.
Previous product development experience in a related field, 5+ years of hands-on R&D engineer work is a must.
Demonstrated track record in driving early project technical requirements and partnership with Innovation projects (aka research activity) in linking to project scope.
Ideally has proven experience in the development of mass-produced electronic consumer goods
Planning and implementation skills.
Ability to manage a portfolio of projects.
Knowledge of consumer-product insights and product research and interpretation of data.
Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence key stakeholders up to senior level.
Certificate of Design-for-6 Sigma is a critical plus. Certificate of PMP (Project Management Professional) is a plus.
