OBI Group Sourcing
is the sourcing unit for the OBI Group in Asia. Its key responsibility is the scouting, sourcing, quality assurance as well as organising the corresponding logistics for products sourced in Asia. Beside the main offices in
Hong Kong
and
Shanghai
, an additional representative office is located in
Ho Chi Minh City
.
Responsibilities:
Strategy and Processes
- Responsibility for developing and implementing a sustainable quality management strategy for OBI Group Sourcing Asia.
- Monitoring and optimizing quality processes across all OGS Asia offices to increase efficiency and improve product quality in the long term.
- Monitor supplier performance and improvement action following up.
- Monitor project tracking status from test protocol, testing plan implementation and report on a monthly basis.
Standards and Compliance
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant national and international quality standards, laws and regulations for own brands and self-sourced items.
- Monitor, supervise and optimize quality process of Quality Engineer from product evaluation, certificate verification, testing and inspection disposition.
- Responsible for technical support for sourcing team, including coaching suppliers of quality standard, technical training for sourcing team, technical suggestion to suppliers.
- Establish and execute a joint quality responsibility framework with partnering suppliers to enhance collaborative quality control.
System and Analysis
- Establishing a digital quality management system, including the evaluation and implementation with IT solutions.
- Evaluating complaint and audit results to derive improvement measures.
- Creating reports and presentations for management.
- Ensure all necessary Quality Assurance support is provided to OGS commercial projects to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
- Maintain the readiness and relevancy of departmental SOPs and WIs for internal use and audit purposes.
Leadership and Management
- Leading and developing your team.
- Responsible for the budget and costs, including managing and controlling the annual quality budget.
- Managing strategic cooperation with external service providers (3rd party laboratory).
- Working closely with the OGS management team and internal interfaces such as Sourcing, SCM, Artwork (packaging).
- Coordinate and communicate closely with the Quality Management team in Germany to ensure global alignment on standards, directives, and quality strategies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree or above with over 10 years of experience in quality assurance in
both
manufacturing
and
sourcing
companies. - Recent 5 years at
managerial or departmental head
level. - Strong knowledge of DIY products, European standards, directives and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills, market sensibility, influence, and presentation skills.
- Good leadership, budget control, and interpersonal skills.
- Good command of English and proficient in MS Office, Google Workspace and ERP systems
