Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced senior director to lead our business development and sales efforts for our award-winning solid state programmable optics, beam steering semiconductor technology across the Asia region. This is a senior position reporting into our Executive VP of Global Business and requiring a blend of customer connections, industry knowledge, technical sales expertise, and leadership skills to drive business growth in the target market segments (especially ToF/3D Sensing) and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead business development and sales efforts across Asian markets in Taiwan, China, Japan, and Korea aligned to the company's overall business strategy while achieving design-in/win and revenue goals
  • Drive revenue growth for our Light Control Metasurface (LCM) programmable beam steering products and offerings in focused target market segments and customers
  • Identify and qualify prospective OEM customers, module maker partners, focused on growth project opportunities in the industrial robotics, commercial vehicles, smart infrastructure and smart security markets
  • Manage and expand relationships with key OEM customers, module makers, joint sales partners as well as our distributors across the Asia region
  • Articulate clear value propositions and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) benefits to convince customers to adopt our LCM beam steering technology and products
  • Build robust and high ROI/value sales pipeline and maintain accurate sales forecasts and reports in support of the annual business plan
  • Conduct market analyses in each Asian country and target market segment to identify and report emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive threats
  • Collaborate with internal teams, especially product marketing and customer success, to drive customer sales support and contribute to building out highly effective sales playbooks for each market segment and region
  • Serve as voice and champion of customers to communicate their feedbacks and key technical and business requirements to the product/marketing team
  • Execute on company business directives aligned to executive management guidelines
  • Support recruitment efforts for qualified business development, sales and FAE resources regionally over the long term
  • Represent the company at local trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings
  • Travel frequently (50%+) across Asia to provide local business and sales support

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in CS or Engineering or related technical fields
  • Minimum 15 years of business development and/or technical sales/account management experience with growing revenue responsibility
  • Director or above seniority level in most recent roles required with cross-Asia sales management experience and key OEM customer relationships
  • Good experience in and understanding of optics/imaging or ToF/3D sensingor LiDAR semiconductor technologies and applications strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of success in managing sales and dynamic revenue growth across multiple countries in Asia
  • Exceptional in negotiations, communications, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in business planning, sales opportunity lifecycle management and forecasting, and CRM tools
  • Results-oriented self-starter with minimal supervision needed and takes ownership
  • Demonstrated multi-tasked projects management, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Action-driven, hands-on doer with attention to details who delivers on commitments
  • Strong team player and go-getter with can-do attitude
  • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment, willing to wear multiple hats
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English and Mandarin Chinese skills required
  • (conversational Japanese skill is nice to have)
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the Asia region and US for internal meetings
  • Previous experience in working remotely preferred
