We're supporting a
leading international biopharmaceutical organization
in their search for a
Vice President of Innovation & Research
to lead their advanced R&D operations and drive the next generation of biotherapeutic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the organization's full research and development strategy - from technical direction and innovation planning to successful execution and delivery.
- Build and manage a high-performing R&D organization, ensuring both scientific excellence and operational efficiency.
- Oversee all stages of R&D program management: strategic planning, execution, performance reviews, and transition from lab-scale to production.
- Spearhead research initiatives in
monoclonal antibody
and
recombinant protein therapeutics
, developing and optimizing core technology platforms for expression and purification. - Drive the development of
advanced molecular biology tools
, including gene cloning, vector design, and expression systems. - Establish and optimize
cell-based expression
and
protein purification platforms
to support preclinical and clinical research pipelines. - Lead
antibody humanization
and
engineering innovation
, maintaining a strong focus on technological advancement and competitive differentiation. - Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and scientific breakthroughs to continuously evolve internal R&D capabilities.
Qualifications
- PhD in
Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Protein Engineering, Immunology
, or a related discipline. - Minimum
10 years of hands-on experience
in areas such as gene cloning, protein expression, purification, cell line development, antibody engineering, and humanization. - At least
8 years of leadership experience
managing cross-functional R&D teams. - Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and English
(spoken and written) required. - International work or study experience
in the
US or EU
strongly preferred. - Proven ability to lead and inspire scientific teams, manage complex programs, and drive innovation in a high-growth environment.
