A leading global home appliances group, renowned for its portfolio of proprietary brands and innovation-driven culture, is seeking a visionary
R&D Director (Structural IPD
) to lead product development initiatives across regional markets.

This strategic role will be pivotal in driving structural innovation, platform-based product development, and cross-regional collaboration, ensuring alignment with market needs and global standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in structural engineering, IPD methodologies, and consumer product development, with a passion for leading multidisciplinary teams and shaping the future of home appliance design.

Responsibilities

Technology Layout Planning:

  • Participate in the company's overall technology planning and based on company strategy, lead the development of the department's technology layout and planning based on multiple perspectives, including user needs, industry requirements, technical performance, and competitive performance.
  • Set technology roadmaps and indicators, develop implementation measures, implement effective monitoring in a step-by-step manner, and be accountable for operational results, ensuring R&D efforts are aligned with the company's overall strategic goals.

Product Development and Resource Coordination Management:

Lead the team in identifying and understanding requirements during product development and establishing a hierarchical development management mechanism for core technical issues to ensure the smooth progress of all development projects.

Process, Platform, and System Development
:

  • Undertake the kitchen appliance NPD team's internal IPD process optimization and detailed support design, develop design standards and specifications to improve team efficiency.
  • Develop a cost-effective mindset, be able to build platforms, enhance platform reuse, and reduce costs through design.

Team Management and Development:

  • Responsible for team-building tasks such as the R&D team's organizational structure, team deployment, and personnel identification and development.
  • Establish performance evaluation standards for the team, motivate team members' enthusiasm and creativity, enhance the team's technical depth and breadth, cognitive breadth, and systematic thinking, and ultimately solve complex technical problems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above within mechanical engineer, industrial engineer or any engineering related disciplines
  • 10-15 years of relevant work experience in R&D design, such as mechanical structural design, with ability to plan R&D strategies and develop R&D technology plans (with experience in innovative technology roadmap planning), clearly defining the key areas of technology strategy and building a technical system.
  • Experience in process system development, with the ability to iterate across multiple platforms (two or more), and the ability to build and optimize customized NPD process systems based on the company's current situation.
  • Proficient in small kitchen appliance structural design, platform applications, and material applications, with a systematic and scientific methodology, and the ability to improve R&D efficiency and process quality through the design and optimization of data, processes, and tools.
  • Demonstrated technical judgment and user-centric thinking, able to develop systematic technical solutions for a specific product category (with systematic planning, making reasonable trade-offs, and focusing on key areas), drive successful team implementation, and demonstrate the ability to transfer decisions to other categories.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments, regions, and internationally, managing key technical personnel in multiple technical fields to collaborate on tasks and foster a positive atmosphere.
  • Extensive experience in team organizational structure, division of labor, deployment, personnel identification and development, and successful case studies
  • Tenacity and strong ability to withstand pressure
  • Self-motivated, flexible, open-minded, embrace change, and influence the team to achieve project and departmental goals
  • A pragmatic approach with a systematic and scientific methodology, able to use data, processes, and tools to mitigate risks, resolve technical issues, and optimize technical solutions.
