Manages and oversees project controls for engineering and construction projects. Responsible for project planning and scheduling, cost estimating and monitoring, and quality review. Manages project controls personnel. Establishes operating policies to mitigate risk. Provides guidance and consultation for project managers.
Management responsibility will be for a portfolio of projects and the management of the project controls engineers/specialists assigned directly to those projects. Responsibilities & Duties
- Sets up project controls at outset of project, tailored to the specific project requirements, including, but not limited to; project procedures, planning and scheduling monitoring, cost control and monitoring, risk management tools, internal audits coordinated with the QM Department.
- Monitoring and reporting to the Project Manager and the Project Controls Director on the status of assigned projects in the areas outlined above.
- Direct day-to-day management of the project controls engineers/specialists assigned to the project portfolio.
- Works closely with the assigned Project Managers to provide the reporting required and manage the project execution processes through completion of the project.
- Works on continuous improvement of Project Controls Tools and methods Job Requirements
- Strong understanding of project and construction management
- Experience with planning and scheduling, budget creation and tracking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong project and department management experience
- Strong IT Skills for scheduling software, cost control software and MS Office.
