Job Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Drive on time publication of Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) deliverables thru NPI Phase 1 to 6 and establish initial Riskassessment on new product Manufacturability, track progress and updates thru all NPI phases in collaboration with Advanced Technology leaders for any new technology introduction (module + lead application)
- Support NPI teams and Engineering to capture new technologies in NPI Ph1-6 and consolidate requirements
- Attend first prototype build events and report manufacturing roadblocks and opportunities for product design improvements
- Attend Phase Exits and Manufacturing Readiness Reviews with Product Engineering and Product Assurance
- Drive Make analysis, summarize Manufacturing Plans (process flow, kpis) & consolidate Capex need (Equipments, toolings)
- Drive initial creation of Generic Process FMEA, evaluate risks and define action plan to reduce RPN scores
- Validate ODT & PPAP results
- Support definition and maintenance of documentation for technology systems and processes (Process Instructions, Quality Control Inspection)
- Update Design For Manufacturing (DFM) guidelines for new technologies
Manufacturing Processes Development
- Cooperate with Advanced Technology Leaders to define the manufacturing equipments and processes for Electrical Assemblies (electric motor inverters assembly)
- Define specification book for new manufacturing lines introduction and line upgrades
- Drive manufacturing line development with suppliers, ensure design reviews and validate equipments thru acceptance test phases
- Conduct Handover with plant Manufacturing Engineering and NPI team by supporting installation, commissioning and validation of new processes
- Support AME Technical Managers in defining the strategy & vision over AOP and STRAP by proposing technical roadmap & related capital investment
- Drive globally the standardization of manufacturing processes with plants
- Define & implement projects to improve HSE, Quality, equipment efficiency and productivity using Lean mindset
- Support panel supplier strategy for equipmentss purchase and implementation
- Support Garrett plants acting as a technical professional to sort recurrent issues on processes, equipment, tools, quality and HSE and NPI.
Job Requirments
- M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification minimum
- Lean Expert or Black Belt certification is preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as Manufacturing engineer in companies building e-motors inverters, ECU or control units, control panels & boards, electric & electronic consumer products, robots, etc…
- Ability to develop an effective project plan and control strategy for his own work
- Experience with cross functional interactions of multi skilled & cultural organization and people
- Knowledge on manufacturing processes: Assembly, Screwing, PCB assembly, Selective Soldering (iron, laser), Sintering, Bending and Cutting, Conformal Coating, PCB Cleaning, Resistance Welding, Adhesive Dispensing, Gluing, Adhesive curing, Electrical Testing, End of Line Testing, Traceability, Quality control, Digital Factory
- The position will require trips to plants / suppliers up to 20% of working time
- Capable on program management tools (project tracking, planning)
- Demonstrated English written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with individuals of all disciplines and levels
- Effective communicator, able to drive and solve conflicting situations, problem solving & Lean mindset
